Depuis
plusieurs années, tous les élèves de 5e ont l’opportunité d’assister
à une représentation théâtrale en anglais. Une troupe 100% anglophone du White Horse Theatre (http://www.white-horse-theatre.eu/fr/) se déplacera au collège, en salle
polyvalente, le jeudi 12 mars à 14h. L’initiation au théâtre étant l’un
des enjeux du programme, les élèves étudieront la pièce My Cousin Charles avec leurs professeurs d’anglais afin d’en cerner
les subtilités et d’apprécier le jeu des acteurs.
Here is a foretaste of the
play:
Dottie’s Uncle Digby is ill, so Dottie’s mother invites her cousin
Charles to visit them. Dottie hates her cousin Charles, so she puts bricks and
custard in his bed, and squirts water at him when he arrives.
Dottie
and Charles are sent outside to play football. The ball goes over the fence and
breaks a window in the house of their neighbor, Mr Swother. Dottie and Charles
try to mend the window – Charles finds some glass, and they glue it into place.
They want to paint the frame, but Charles drops the paint and it makes a mess
on Swother’s carpet. Dottie fetches coloured paints and they try to paint the
pattern back on the carpet. Mr Swother comes in and they hide…
